A: Kindly follow this link to our Registration Forms (REGISTRATION FORMS).
Q: Is there a registration Fee?
A: At time of registration a non-refundable $50 fee will be charged. This is a one time fee per family and secures your spot in our program.
Q: Is there a deposit charge?
A: Yes, we require a $ 100 deposit to recover any charges in event of late pick up, late payments, etc.
Q: When are monthly Fees due?
A: We require the payment to be made on 1st of every month. Cheques are to be dated for the first of the month and this is also when they will be cashed.
Q: What do I do if I no longer require care?
A: We require one month notice from the first of the month. Any post dated cheques for the following months will be returned.
Q: What happens if I accidentally bounce a cheque?
A: Your child will still have care but we would appreciate a new cheque promptly with a $25 surcharge included to cover the bank fees.
Q: I am going away or have decided to take a holiday. Do I still need to pay for the time I am away?
A: Yes, in order to secure your child’s space you need to pay even when you wish to take a holiday. We are unable to enroll another child while you are away as this spot is secured for your child. If you choose to discontinue care for a period of time we cannot guarantee your space will be available upon your return as their are other families that may be waiting for care.
If you are on Subsidy and take more then a two week holiday subsidy will not cover your fees so you will need to pay the balance.
Q: What is your staff to child ratio.
A: I am a licensed Early Childhood Educator and I can care for 8 Children at a time including Infant, Toddlers, preschooler, before and after school care.
Q: What qualifications do your staff hold?
A: I am licensed ECE Educator and have a valid criminal check and first aid. There will always be an Early Childhood Educator on site and all assistants will have completed at least one ECE course. We will only hire staff members who are as passionate about children and childcare as we are.
Q: May I come in and visit my child during the day?
A: We will have an open door policy and all parents will be welcome to come in at any time with notice of 1 Hour. We ask that you please be respectful of other children in the program who shy away from visiting and picking up at nap time.
Q. Does my child need to be potty trained in order to attend your centre?
A. This is a very common question and the answer is No! As we take infants as young as 6 weeks old, we help our families by assisting in the process of potty training.
Q. Will my child nap while in your care? And if yes, what are the sleeping conditions?
A. Most young children require a nap to re-energize their tired bodies and rejuvenate them selves for the afternoon. As all parents know you cannot force a child to go to sleep, we encourage nap time by darkening the rooms, playing soft music and creating a relaxing environment most conducive for a good rest. The children sleep on mats or cots and are required to bring in their own sheets and pillows. If a child chooses not to nap, they are asked to engage in some downtime and relax with their peers.
Q. Are your staff certified to be working with children and have they all undergone background checks?
A. Of course. Our staff must have all completed at least the minimum requirements mandated by the respective provincial governments in order to work in our centres. Many of our early educators have received additional training and are certified by an educational institution such as a University or College. All of our centre staff have undergone police background checks and are able to work with children. Furthermore, Magical Memories Daycare mandates that all centre staff hold their certification in CPR and First Aid Training.
Q. Do you allow and accommodate for part time care?
A. Magical Memories Daycare realizes that schedules can completely vary by household and the need for full time childcare doesn't exist in all circumstances. We do offer part time care for our families on a 2, 3 or 4 day a week in order to accommodate those circumstances.
Q. Do you allow and accommodate for half day care?
A. Our programs (and fees) are all offered as full time care. As families live on different schedules with different needs, children may come and go in between operating hours as needed.
Q. What is your policy on discipline and time outs?
A. We use passive discipline which means no staff at Magical Memories Daycare is to ever use physical force to implement discipline onto a child. We explain right behaviour versus wrong behaviour through showcasing the positive and negative effects of their actions. We only implement the use of time outs when needed, but we try out best to Guide Children in positive manner (Kindly review our Policy for Discipline and Behaviour Guidance) and we will also work together with our families to find alternative forms of reinforcing positive behaviour. For further clarification in these matters, please consult the Centre Director.
Q. Is your facility nut free?
A. Yes. We neither use nuts in our meal preparation nor allow children to bring snacks containing nuts into our centres. This is inclusive of all tree nuts as well.
Q. Can you accommodate my child's allergies?
A. Yes we can. We can work within the menu and nutritional guidelines to come to an alternative meal plan to allow your child to still eat and eat healthy.
Q. Does your centre offer and accept subsidy options?
YES we gladly accept subsidy payments through the provincial governments. All subsidy requests must go through the province and not through us.
